Meet the Wingdog
A working dog in a fighter pilot's helmet, calm eyes, no teeth. The face on the patch, the flag and the tee.
A working dog in a fighter pilot’s helmet: visor up, oxygen mask on, hose trailing to the right. Calm eyes. No teeth. That is the Wingdog, and it is the face of the squadron on the patch, the flag and the tee.
Heraldry, not cartoon. The dog is drawn the way nose art was painted on fuselages: flat inks, hard edges and an expression that has seen a few bolters and is not impressed. It never grins at you and it never snarls.
The head is the same everywhere. What changes around it, a patch ring, a flag field or a small chest mark, is just the squadron putting its face on different things.
